SSC is a Tokyo-based boutique advisory practice working between Japanese energy developers and international technology suppliers across offshore wind, onshore wind, battery storage, and O&M.
Our role is structural — shaping the commercial and technical engagement between both sides so cross-border projects move forward. Tom brings over a decade of experience from both sides of the table.
SSC is a single-principal practice. Engagements are scoped and led directly by Tom, with experienced specialists brought in when additional depth is needed.

Tom began his career as a project engineer at MD&A in the United States, supporting Steam Turbine Retrofit projects for thermal power plants. He returned to Japan in 2016 and spent the following years in technical sales at Vestas and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, working the supplier side of the very offshore wind contracts he now structures from the developer side.
He founded SSC in 2020 to focus on the structural layer of cross-border energy projects — where contracts, scopes, and decision flows determine whether an international engagement actually delivers. Tom holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and works in Japanese and English.
